DATE- April 14th
TIME- About 11:00 AM
VENUE- DBS Bhawan, Secundrabad (Good Place and arrangement)
Waited in TAPMI Waiting hall. 15-20 human beings were already there waiting for being grilled. I was the new lamb in the herd. Found some familiar faces there though dunno who were they and where I met them but treated like oh you are the only my best friend here. Passed the formal smile first then started talking. Candidates from 8:30 batch were still waiting for there Dean's Interview. At about 11:45 Mr.Natarajan came (Faculty in TAPMI for last 11 long years.) and gave the extra little intro of the selection process. Then divided the whole group of students into 2. Other group went to another floor for Case Study.
Hurdle 1- Case Study(In brief)
Mr.Smith is a very good banker and doing good. His manager gave him promotion and shifted him to another branch as a branch manager. He warned Smith that there you will meet a person named some Mr.D who is working with bank since last 31 years and he is still asst.Manager and he want that position only. He is very important fot bank as he created many customers for bank, and knows that area very good also he is from the same ethnic community which is in majority there so he has support of that also. BUT he is dogmatic in his approach, bit angry, don't like anybody interfering in his work. So be careful. Smith found him the same after joining that branch. Once he even said to Smith that don't interfere in my work. Smith was wondering that whether he should remain silent and take work ex of 2-3 years and move or interfere?
There were 3 questions-
1. What is the role of age, seniority, experience, community and all in this particular case?
2. If you were at Smith's position what would be your next step?
3. Don't remember exactly but about some organisational behaviour.
Just 10 mins to read and answer. Answered first 2.
Waited for almost 1 hour for panel interview. Was hungry because came without breakfast so took out my krackjack and kurkure hatke jhatke (lol). They saved me from starving.
Hurdle 2- Panel Interview and Extempore. (Panel 3)
There were 2 panel members. One was busy looking at my form. Other at me.
May I come in Sir. Oh yes Robin (In a very high pitched voice)
The one looking at my form is P1 and the one looking at my transcripts and me is P2.
P2- Tell me about yourself.
Me- Blah blah blah...
P2- Why ur percentages are fluctuating?
Me- In my first year I was concentrating more on business than study. So I screwed first year. Second year was fine. In final year just before examinations was doing job and saving money. So it was not that great.
P2-What are your future plans?
Me-Sir I want to open my own financial consultation company 10 years down the row. For that 2 of my friends already started doing CFA and I am about to do MBA in finance.
P2-Good. You said you helped your brother in setting up his business. What is that business? What is its turnover? When did you both started it? Why not your father helped him and only you?
Me-Blah, blah, blah...
P1-What is money market?
Me-Told
P1-What is RBI?
Me-Told
P1-Who decides the interest rates?
Me-Told
P1-On what basis they decide interest rates?
Me-Told
P1-What do you mean by Govt.Bonds?
Me-Here I commit mistake and mixed treasury bonds with govt.bonds. Treasury bonds are just for 91 days and govt bonds may be upto 30 years. I said 91 days thing in govt.bonds.
Hurdle 3- Extempore
Topic-Men grows old by loosing interest in life and not by age.
Thought for about 25 secs and started gave the example of Vijay Mallaya who cherish every moment of his life irrespective of his age. Spoke for about 1.30 minute.
P1- For what you got this Young Jaina Award?
Me-For doing so many things at the same time-scoring good marks in 12th, winning awards in racing, winning in science, commerce exhibitions, winning in painting n all sum up to Young Jaina Award.
P2- Ok wait outside for Dean's Interview.
Me- Thank you sirs. Have a great day ahead.
Waited for some time outside then a guy came and said that you can wait in waiting room because Dean is went out to take his lunch.
Waited for 1:30 hours for being called for Interview.
Hurdle 4- Dean's Interview.
A guy with french cut beard.
D-Tell me about yourself.
Me-Told
D-Which was your favourite subject in your Graduation?
Me-Financial Market Operations and Financial Management.
D-What is Quick Ratio?
Me-Told
D-What is Current Ratio?
Me-Told
D-What is Price Elasticity of Demand?
Me-Told (I thought I said my fav subject is Finance and FMO and not Economics so that you are asking this question, but ok they can ask anything from paper pin to satellite)
D-What is Law of Demand?
Me-(Yaar again economics???) Told in my words.
D-No, tell me the exact wordings of that Law.
Me- Sorry Sir I don't remember the exact wordings. I can only tell in my words right now.
D-Do you have any questions for me?
Me- Yes. I am unable to find the responsibilities the students of previous batch of TAPMI got in companies they got placed. Will you please give me a little info regarding this?
D- Do any other B-School provide this info?
Me-No
D-We also don't provide.
Me-Thank You Sir.
Overall Good ex. Expecting something positive.
All the best to all.
Keep Smiling.... :)

Kyu Itne Bade Hum Ho Gaye?
A NOTE- THIS POEM IS NOT WRITTEN BY ME.
Kya wo din the...
Maa ki god aur papa ke kandhe,
Aaj yaad aa raha hai sab kuch choota jo peeche,
Rote rote so jaana,
Khud se baatain karna,
Kho jana...
Wo maa ka awaaz lagana,
Khana haatho se khilana..
Wo din bhar papa ka rasta takna,
Zid poori hone ka Intzaar karna...
Kya wo din the bachpan ke suhane,
Kyun itne door sab kuch ho gaye...
Ab zid bhi apni,
Sapne bhi apne,
Kis se kahe ke kya chahiye?
Manzilo ko dhoondhte hue hum kho gaye,
Kyun itne bade hum ho gaye...???
Kya wo din the...
Maa ki god aur papa ke kandhe,
Aaj yaad aa raha hai sab kuch choota jo peeche,
Rote rote so jaana,
Khud se baatain karna,

Aisa ho to kya baat ho....
A Small Note-First of all, before you all read this poem I'd like to tell that this poem is written by me some years ago and at that time some friends spread it all over. So you can find this poem at many places. Believing me or not is all up to you.
I think I should now start copy writing my creations so that I don't have to see suspicion in the eyes of people.
Now you can read-
Kitabo ke panne palat ke sochte hai,
Yu palat jaye zindagi to kya baat ho,
Tamanna jo poori ho khwabo me,
Haqikat ban jaye to kya baat ho,
Kuch log matlab ke liye dhundte hai mujhe,
Bin matlab ke koi aaye to kya baat ho,
Katl kar ke to sab le jayenge dil mera,
Koi baato se le jaaye to kya baat ho,
Jo sharifo ki sharafat me baat na ho,
Ek sharabi keh jaaye to kya baat ho,
Zinda rehne tak to khushi dunga sabko,
Kisiko meri maut pe khushi mil jaye to kya baat ho....

Waqt Nahi....
Har Khushi Hai logon ke daman main,
Par ek Hansi ke liye WAQT NAHI...
Din raat daudti dunaiya main,
Jeene ke liye WAQT NAHI...
Maa ki lori ka ehsaas to hai,
Par Maa ko Maa kehne ka WAQT NAHI...
Saare Rishton ko to hum maar chuke,
Ab unhe dafnaane ka bhi WAQT NAHI...
Saare naam mobile me hain,
Par dosti ke liye WAQT NAHI...
Gairon ki kya baat kare,
Jab apno ke liye hi WAQT NAHI...
Aankho me hai neend bhari,
Par sone ka bhi WAQT NAHI...
Tu hi bata e zindagi, is zindagi ka kya hoga,
ki har pal marne walo ko jeene ke liye bhi.......WAQT NAHI...
Par ek Hansi ke liye WAQT NAHI...

Frustration of INDIAN Student
Hey hi Robin,
From how many DECENT colleges are you getting call?
IIM? or XLRI or FMS. MDI to sure shot mil hi gaya hoga tujhe?
What the F**k man?
Getting into these institutes halua hai kya?
I am confirm of this that getting into a decent B-School in a country like India where 100000 candidates fights for 33 seats (AIIMS) is one of the toughest task in world.
Institutes also wants the so called top class students who have 90+ percentages in all his/her marksheets.
Below 90....ohhhh man you are not good in acads.
Somehow if by doing kamar todu hard work a student manages to score that so called good percentages(90+) in his/her school/college life, then comes entrance exams....
Bahut circus hai bhaiya yahan...kab tak, kahan tak, kis kis ki expectations, requirements poori karoge?
In entrance exams also all decent colleges want 97 percentile, 98 percentile, 99 percentile, is se neeche to bardasht(acceptable) hi nahi.
If you got 92, 93, 94 percentile then you did a crime. You are not eligible to be happy.
Why these people can't understand that a manager,a engineer, a doctor does not means that you have to score stupendous scores in all your exams.
A manager is known by his/her ability to manage things and turn things in his/her company's favour and not by scoring many 90s in exams.
A engineer is known by his/her ability to create new things, correct things and not by just scoring 90s in exams.
A friend from Netherlands told me why giving entrance exams and all? If you have interest then just take admission. I was unable to stop my laugh that time. I said dude this is INDIA where you have to fight like a warrior from lakhs of aspirants to
get one seat and not netherlands.
My friend rightly told me that if you are in INDIA and if you want to get seat then either you have extraordinary brain or you have loads of cash which you can throw on the face of institutes like SYMBIOSIS to get seat.
But if you are an average student with middle class family then be ready to become
the lion of THE GREAT INDIAN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM CIRCUS.
Institutes don't give seats to deserving candidates but only to candidates who have money(which many don't have) or who have greeeaaaaaatttt acads so we kill the original person original interest inside us and just start prepare ourselves for scoring great marks (coz donation is not our cup of tea).
So from here starts the killing of human being and transforming that human into ROBOTS who is very good in acads.
I am very much interested in forest and wild life and wanted to do some work in that field (though in india there is not much scope and money in it but still I wanted to do that for my satisfaction and not for money but....) but I had to kill that Robin inside me and started preparing for INDIAN MBA CIRCUS.
I know that like me many more Robin are killing the original human inside them and will keep killing in future also to survive in India and Indian educational system.

Different figures of Speech (For XAT)
METAPHOR: A figure of speech in which a word or phrase literally denoting one object or idea is applied to another, thereby suggesting a likeness or analogy between them, as
(1)”The Leaves of Life keep falling one by one.” (2)”I fall upon the thorns of life! I bleed!”
PERSONIFICATION : A type of metaphor in which distinctive human characteristics, e.g., honesty, emotion, volition, etc., are attributed to an animal, object or idea, as
(1)”The haughty lion surveyed his realm” or (2)”My car was happy to be washed” or (3)”‘Fate frowned on his endeavors.” Personification is commonly used in allegory.
HYPERBOLE: A bold, deliberate overstatement, e.g., (1)”I’d give my right arm for a piece of pizza.” Not intended to be taken literally, it is used as a means of emphasizing the truth of a statement.
N.B: A type of hyperbole in which the exaggeration magnified so greatly that it refers to an impossibility is called an adynaton.
Oxymoron:An oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines normally contradictory terms. They appear in a range of contexts, from inadvertent errors such as extremely average, to deliberate puns like same difference, to literary oxymoron that have been carefully crafted to reveal a paradox (1)The most common form of oxymoron involves an adjective-noun combination. For example,
(a)”And faith unfaithful kept him falsely true.” (b)Some more examples of the more commonly seen “adjective-noun” oxymoron are shown below: Dark Sunshine, Happy Depression, Amazing Dullness, Dynamic Equilibrium.
(2)Less often seen is noun-verb combination such as the line”The silence whistles”
Non Sequitur:It is an argument in which its conclusion does not follow from its premises. In a non sequitur, the conclusion can be either true or false, but the argument is fallacious because there is a disconnection between the premise and the conclusion. All formal fallacies are special cases of non sequitur. The term has special applicability in law, having a formal legal definition. Many types of known non sequitur argument forms have been classified into many different types of logical fallacies. such as
(a)”If you buy this car, your family will be safer.” (While some cars are safer than others, it is possible to decrease instead of increase your family’s overall safety.
(b)”If you do not buy this type of pet food you are neglecting your dog.” (Premise and conclusion are once again unrelated)
(c)”I hear the rain falling outside my window; therefore, the sun is not shining.” (The conclusion is a non-sequitur because the sun can shine while it’s raining.)
Euphemism: Euphemism is a figure of speech which is used to pacify the harsh, offensive, blatant comment. As in
(1)passed away for die (2)washroom for toilet (3)lady of the evening for prostitute.
Of the following I just know the definitions (mera khud ka aaj tak kabhi sahi nahi gaya :()
CAESURA: A rhythmic break or pause in the flow of sound which is commonly introduced in about the middle of a line of verse, but may be varied for different effects. Usually placed between syllables rhythmically connected in order to aid the recital as well as to convey the meaning more clearly, it is a pause dictated by the sense of the content or by natural speech patterns, rather than by metrics. It may coincide with conventional punctuation marks, but not necessarily.
A caesura within a line is indicated in scanning by the symbol (||), as in the first line of Emily Dickinson’s, I’m Nobody! Who Are You I’m no | body! || Who are | you?
N.B: As a grammatical, rhythmic, and dramatic device, as well as an effective means of avoiding monotony, the caesura is a powerful weapon in the skilled poet’s arsenal.
ONOMATOPOEIA: Strictly speaking, the formation or use of words which imitate sounds, like whispering, clang and sizzle, but the term is generally expanded to refer to any word whose sound is suggestive of its meaning. As in Keats’ “The murmurous haunt of flies on summer.”
LITOTES:A figure of speech consisting of an understatement in which an affirmative is expressed by negating its opposite.e.g:
(1)”for life’s not a paragraph And death I think is no parenthesis” (2)We made a difference. We made the city stronger, we made the city freer, and we left her in good hands. All in all, not bad, not bad at all.”
ALLITERATION: Also called head rhyme or initial rhyme, the repetition of the initial sounds (usually consonants) of stressed syllables in neighboring words or at short intervals within a line or passage, usually at word beginnings, as in “wild and woolly” or the line from Shelley’s The Cloud.
ASSONANCE : The relatively close juxtaposition of the same or similar vowel sounds, but with different end consonants in a line or passage, thus a vowel rhyme, as in the words, date and fade.
SYMBOL: An image transferred by something that stands for or represents something else, like (1)flag for country, or (2)autumn for maturity.
Symbols can transfer the ideas embodied in the image without stating them, as in Robert Frost’s Acquainted With the Night, in which night is symbolic of death or depression, or Sara Teasdale’s The Long Hill, in which the climb up the hill symbolizes life and the brambles are symbolic of life’s adversities.
Irony:The use of words to convey the opposite of their literal meaning. A statement or situation where the meaning is contradicted by the appearance or presentation of the idea. The most common form of irony is when the spoken words do not convey the underlying meaning.
For example, it would be ironical for you to sa He is as smart as a soap dish because if your audience did not know what a soap dish was, or how smart it was (not), they might interpret the statement as a compliment, whereas the underlying meaning you intended to convey is an insult. This example is not a very skillful use of irony, because everyone knows what a soap dish is. Irony is much more successful when subtly applied.
Antithesis:The juxtaposition of contrasting ideas in balanced phrases.
e.g: (1)”Love is an ideal thing, marriage a real thing.” (2)”Hillary has soldiered on, damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t, like most powerful women, expected to be tough as nails and warm as toast at the same time.”

I Love...
I love to see you smile
And I love knowing that I caused that smile
I love to see you happy
And I love knowing that I caused that happiness
I love to look into your beautiful eyes
And I love the way I fall into them
I love it when you hold my hand
And I love having the courage to grab and hold yours
I love to tease and torment you
And I love it when you tease and torment me
I love it when you touch me
And I love to touch you
I love rediscovering how beautiful you are each time I see you
And I love realizing how attractive you make me feel
I love wanting so badly to kiss you
And I love the way you want to take things slow
I love the fact that you still want to be my friend
And I love that I want to be yours
I love so many things about you
But the most important thing is:
I Love you!
I Love you!
